Fun drawings...

I thought I'd share a couple little drawings I made in the past. I'm a nervous type of person and I have a hard time sitting still...that is unless I'm completely exhausted! Then I can lay down and sleep without much trouble.

But every once in a while when I'm sitting around filling a little bit of time...like when I'm on the phone with someone and I get put on hold...I doodle. And during the cold winter months I seem to have more time on my hands so I'll take out my drawing pad and play around a bit.

Here are a couple pictures of a few little doodles I made...

"Dreaming of Chocolate"

"Hope"

"Girls Dream"

"Shoe on a Pedestal"

"My Kind of Tea Party"

I hope you enjoy them...I always have fun when I'm creating!

More fun to come soon...until then,

My Puppy Catching Some Much Needed Rays

I titled this post as 'My Puppy...' but she's hardly a puppy. Button--her legal name--is about 8 years old now, but I always call her 'Puppy'.

We've had a pretty mild winter up to now. The last few days it's been up in the 40's and 50's. Today it's rainy, but yesterday was pretty sunny.  Dr. Oz has said it a million times and I know it's true. We all need our daily dose of vitamin D and one way to get that daily dose is to sit outside in the sun for about 15 minutes each day.

Sitting in the sun for 15 minutes is easy in the warm weather, but when it's cold out that won't work for me. So I take my daily dose of Vitamin D in the form of a pill. Simple.

My husband and I noticed something a few years ago and it always strikes me as interesting. Every time we have a sunny day Button automatically goes out onto the deck and sits in the sun. It happens every day in the summer...unless it's raining.

So any time it's sunny and she goes out and sits on the deck I call it her time to go out and 'catch some rays and get her daily dose of Vitamin D'. Maybe this is something that's instinctual for animals.

Or maybe I'm completely off my rocker and she just likes the sun! To be honest I don't even know if animals need vitamin D!

Most likely the real deal is that I'm just a nut case that thinks too much and Button is just a simple dog who likes to sit in the sun!

Okay...more on the way...until then,

It's a New Day

It's a new day for me...I am making changes on my existing websites, I am building a new website and making changes in my life. I need change so badly I can taste it.

One thing I HAVE to do is start painting for me. Here's the first painting I've created in a long time...can't wait to find more inspiration. It's hard at first to let yourself go and just paint when you haven't done that in a long time. Hopefully the universe will agree that I need to change paths and help me find my way.

I think they look like fried egg flowers...but whatever! I look at this way...this is the morning of my new day right??? In the morning you have eggs...maybe my next painting will look like lunch!

Oh well...c'est la vie!

More on the way soon...until then,

Recent work...some paisley...and more...

Just sharin'...

I painted this design for a growth chart order for a customer. I never did a paisley pattern before so I just got a few images of some paisley fabrics and came up with my own little version.

I can't explain why but I was somewhat mesmerized by the creative energy that came out of me the day I painted this design. It was as if I was possessed and *HAD* to get it done. I just couldn't put down my paint brush and walk away. It was time consuming, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I hope the customer liked it...I never heard from them either way. But I've learned over the years to hold onto this thought...

"No news is good news!"

So I'll just assume they were happy with it!

I'm having some fun tonight looking over the photos of the things I created over this past holiday season. I'm always so busy going from one order to the next from November through mid-December and I really don't get a chance to enjoy some of the things I create. Here's a photo of my work area...

orders piled high...
prepped wood pieces waiting their turn to be cast into something new...

...yes...this is my life! Every day I get paid to create, paint and draw. It's something I've always dreamed about. And I love it...most of the time!

More fun on the way...until then,

Why is it...

...that every time I get busy cleaning the house at least one of my kids asks me, "Is someone coming over?"

They obviously have learned that when I clean it's because I'm getting the 'fake house' ready for company!

Oh geez!!! I need to go work on getting a life!

More later...
