I don't know why but I love them. I love to draw them and paint them. It's only been a love that has grown over the past few years. I think it started with my name signs...customers placing orders for signs with safari animals...and once I started painting the giraffes I got hooked.
I think it's their eyes...have you ever seen them up close??? I never paid attention until I had to paint them. That's when I realized how big and bulgy and beautiful their eyes are. Plus they have gorgeous thick long lashes! It makes me jealous!
Anyways...last night I sat down to watch my guilty please...the Real Housewives of Miami Reunion show. I grabbed my drawing pad and colored pencils and decided to draw a giraffe...here's what I came up with:
I feel like the background needs more, but I'm just gonna stew on it for now. I don't want to force anything. But I did play a bit with it in my paint program and added some cluds...this is an ACEO size print:
Like I said I have to stew on it and see what else I come up with.
Now it's back to the real world...laundry! Yuck!
